| Abstract: | Civilians on beach and along boardwalk at Coney Island. Pier and
Brooklyn skyline in background. Sanitation workers, uniformed in both
dark uniforms and caps and dark pants/white shirts and caps, pick up
litter along beach with long rake-like tools. Some civilians appear to
be helping. Cleaned and uncleaned portions of beach clearly visible. |
| Description: | Black and white glossy 8" x 10" photo with white borders.
Verso: some ink and mold stains. Provenance: Removed from site by Robin
Nagle, 9/07. One of four photos found in kraft folder, likely a series,
showing Coney Island beach before, during and after cleanup. Pencil
handwriting on kraft envelope reads "Cleaning Beach at Coney
Island;" "NO NEGS" noted in top left corner. |
