| Title: | Overflowing Litter Basket and Refuse, Avenue A |
| Authors: | Unknown |
| Keywords: | Trash and Transformation Litter Manhattan |
| Issue Date: | 19-Oct-2007 |
| Abstract: | A scan of a photograph documenting an overflowing litter basket on a
Manhattan street corner |
| Description: | Source: Robin Nagle. Original photograph is black and white,
approximately 8" X 10". Photograph was found in a collection
of other photographs labeled "Litter Lens." The collection of
photographs as a whole documents violations of the Department of
Sanitation's rules about the disposal of litter. This photograph is not
dated, however, several of the other photographs were dated throughout
the year 1980. This photograph documents and overflowing litter basket
and other litter on the corner of Avenue A and another cross street (the
adjacent street sign is cut off on the image) in Manhattan. The location
is in downtown Manhattan. Presumably, the photograph was taken to
document the litter that is violation of some Department of Sanitation
rule regarding liiter and refuse in public litter baskets. |
