Description: "South Asia Women’s Fund was founded in 2004 to support women’s and trans* rights groups and activists in the South Asian countries of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. We are a regional women’s fund, committed to supporting interventions led by women and trans* people to enhance and strengthen their access to human rights and to counter violations thereof. In a little over a decade, SAWF has supported over 230 initiatives at the sub-national level in the region, ensuring human rights for a diverse cross-section of women and trans* people. This support has included technical as well as critical fiscal resources, for both women’s and trans* rights groups and donors. We also foster effective programme designing and process-oriented strategies, to nurture not only the implementers but also the constituencies, which comprise of women and trans people at the community level."
