| dc.description | Source: Robin Nagle. The original image is a negative of this report cover that was taken with black and white film. The photocopy is 8.5" x 11," but the original appears to be approximately 7" x 10". The cover of annual report shows images of the evolution of various types of technology - both in terms of physical spaces where garbage is processed and in terms of actual machinery and vehicles used by the Department of Sanitation to collect and transport garbage. Below the title are three images, presumably of the newest models of vehicles, and directly below is the phrase "D.S. Progress." The images appear to be arranged hierarchically, with the oldest technologies on the bottom of the page and the newest at the top.
