Systems of oppression pressure our Trans community to conform to societal norms, to silence ourselves, and to hide our truth. Trans formative Schools (TfS) believes a middle school that teaches transformational resistance will intervene at a critical inflection point, bringing both joy and purpose into the lives of our Transgender, Nonbinary, Genderqueer and Two-Spirit students and their teachers. TfS is especially cognizant of the impact Trans formative Schools will make on the lives of children with multiple marginalizations. TfS believes that transing education by centering transness in co-constructed student-centered spaces will embolden youth to enlist the tools to read and write power that will lead them to lives dedicated to collective liberation.
