Abstract: Several civilians lined up on boardwalk and across beach at Coney Island; Brooklyn skyline and pier visible in back. Beach is covered in litter and partially-filled garbage cans.
Description: Black and white photo (sepia toned), glossy, 8" x 10", white borders. Verso: black ink handwriting, top left corner: "Coney Island Before Cleaning Beach." Black ink traces (likely fingerprints). Provenance: Removed from site by Robin Nagle, 9/07. One of four photos found in kraft envelope, apparently a series of photos showing the before, during and after of cleaning Coney Island beach. Fourth photo is a duplicate of this one (not scanned at this time - 10/11/07). Pencil handwriting on kraft envelope reads "Cleaning Beach at Coney Island;" "NO NEGS" noted in top left corner.
