Abstract: Edward J. Sullivan discusses the work of Hatian-American artist Edouard Duval-Carrié. Duval-Carrié’s work, as with many artists from the Caribbean diaspora, confronts themes of migration, displacement, and identity. Sullivan discusses the depictions of travel, exile, and the experience of split identity in the contemporary Caribbean consciousness.
