Abstract: This article discusses the rise of contemporary Dutch Antillian and Aruban art fairs in the 1980s and 1990s. Caribbean festivals and biennials greatly influenced the art scene drawing global attention to Caribbean artists. Notable art fairs and biennials include: Gala di Arte (1991), Carib Art (1993), and Arte ‘99 (1999).
